My ComModule doesn't show up or doesn't want to connect in WATERROWER Connect

Let's troubleshoot what's going on with your ComModule

Let's go through a few troubleshooting steps to check if everything is in order. First of all, WaterRower Connect connects to your ComModule just before starting a rowing session, choose your session such as "Just row" and a scanner will start where your ComModule should show up.

Charged and turned on

Tap the button on the top of ComModule, if the light doesn't come on it is very likely that your ComModule is not charged. Take your ComModule of the back of the S4 monitor and charge using the included charging cable.

Seated correctly

When putting the ComModule on the back of the S4 make sure it is seated correctly, a PC symbol will show up on the S4 monitor indicating that a connection is made.

If your ComModule doesn't fit on the back of your S4 monitor make sure that you mounted the included backplate.

Other apps connected

The ComModule is compatible with a wide range of apps, however due to iOS/Android system limitations it is only possible to use the ComModule with one app at the time. Make sure the other apps are either disconnected or closed before trying to connect in WaterRower Connect.

Connect through the Connect app

Connection is established from within the WaterRower Connect app, make sure you didn't connect through the system's Bluetooth menu as this will prevent WaterRower Connect from finding the ComModule.

Error lights

If your ComModule is flashing, refer to the error codes below:

  • Red continuous flashing - Unable to connect to the S4 Monitor - Reseat the ComModule

  • Red 3-4 flashes - Communication error - Turn the ComModule off by holding the button for > 4 seconds.

  • Red one slow flash - Firmware issue - Contact WaterRower for a firmware update

  • Red 5 quick flashes - Ensure the ComModule is charged and connected to the S4 Monitor ("PC" symbol on)
